"Guitar: Acoustics as a constructionguiding parameter. This project focused on the variety of woodworking techniques and the material properties of different woods. Whether laminating, milling or chiselling, you always have to choose the right wood for the right purpose. For example, the vibrations are transmitted from the top through the body. The fingerboard must be a hard wood, while the top should be as light as possible to transmit the vibrations as well as possible. Other woods are purely decorative. Selected woods:
Top: spruce. Back: flamed maple. Fingerboard: walnut.
Nightstand: This project was above all about precise work with wood. The chosen joint was the dovetail, a very popular classical wood joint, widespread across many cultures, resistant to both tensile and shearing forces. Work was carried out primarily with the Japanese saw and the chisel."
